Suryadatta National School Pays Tribute to the Heroes of Kargil During Kargil Vijay Diwas Week

Inspired by the vision of Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya, Founder President & Chairman of Suryadatta Education Foundation, under the guidance of Vice President Mrs Sushama S. Chordiya and with the support of AVP Mrs Snehal Navalakha, Suryadatta National School, Bavdhan, commemorated Kargil Vijay Diwas Week with great patriotism, pride, and gratitude through a series of meaningful activities.

The week-long celebration was organised to honour the unparalleled courage, sacrifice, and dedication of the brave soldiers who safeguarded the nation’s sovereignty during the Kargil War. The initiative aimed to instil patriotism, discipline, responsibility, and respect for the Indian Armed Forces among students.

The highlight of the programme was a special assembly graced by Mr. Sudhir Chauhan, Former Store Petty Officer (SPO) of the Indian Navy, who served the nation with distinction for over 15 years.

The programme began with a warm welcome by the Principal, Head Boy Dhruv Patil, and Head Girl Sumedha Mondal, who presented the Chief Guest with a sapling as a symbol of gratitude and environmental responsibility. A two-minute silence was observed in memory of the martyrs of the Kargil War, followed by presentations highlighting the significance of Kargil Vijay Diwas and the extraordinary bravery of the Indian Armed Forces.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Chauhan shared inspiring experiences from his naval service and encouraged students to embrace the values of patriotism, discipline, courage, integrity, and selfless service to the nation. He was felicitated by the school in recognition of his dedicated service to the country.

To further nurture patriotism and creativity, the school organised a series of inter-house competitions throughout the week. Students of Grades I and II participated in a Colouring Competition, while Grades III to V and VI to VIII showcased their talents through Drawing and Essay Writing Competitions. Students of Grades IX and X participated in Drawing and Letter Writing Competitions, expressing heartfelt gratitude and admiration for the brave soldiers of the Kargil War.

Through their artwork, essays, and letters, students beautifully reflected their respect for the Indian Armed Forces, national unity, courage, and commitment towards the nation.

Prof. Dr. Sanjay B. Chordiya emphasised that Suryadatta has always been committed to value-based education that nurtures patriotism, social responsibility, and responsible citizenship. Mrs Snehal Navalakha remarked that such initiatives help students understand the sacrifices of the nation’s soldiers and strengthen their sense of gratitude, pride, and national responsibility.

The Kargil Vijay Diwas Week celebrations concluded with a heartfelt tribute to the heroes of the nation, reinforcing Suryadatta National School’s commitment to nurturing responsible, value-driven, and patriotic citizens.
